anyone want to share knowledge about some reliable computer manufacturers/brand names?

so far my favorite company has been asus. i recently bought a refurbished Asus G50VT-X1. which is frigin awesome and runs games like bio shock smooth as butter. crisis on high settings is also playable in dx9 easy. it can get kind choppy in dx10 on high but thats ok.

now heres a person who appreciates quality xD yup asus is one of the best brands in the motherboard and GFX cards department, for RAM i'd go for Kingston and for harddrives it would have to be SEAGATE for me

yeah i got a small 15 inch asus moniter awhile back and its served me well.
and i love my laptop. 769$ for some serious gaming power in a laptop.

im curious as to other people's experiences with evga. i got a ge-force 8800gts 640mg gfx pci-e x16 and its not the most funcitional card. i have had many problmes with it oen being heat. but im not sure if the issues ive had with it are entirely the card's fault or the compaq computer i put it in's fault

more likely the computers fualt and not the card, that card is considered one of the best for mid-range performance.

as for my self ive got a junky ge-fore 8400 SE made by XFX and i find it nice really but its not a card i recommend if you want to game however its pretty nice for media and it can function well even when its hot.

lol well a GPU is nothing more than a CPU thats dedicated to graphics but your CPu can also function as a GPU but that makes it really hot rather than getting a seperate GPU

Well I assemble my own PC with my own preference so there's is no particular brand in whole.

lol well its impossible not to have less than 4 brands in your computer unless you have loads of money and ask a company to make the things for you :P

i work for hp so saying something else constitutes as treason :))

anyway. i actually like how their laptops perform, but they're not for gaming.

for gaming i prefer the PCs which i put them together myself...had like 4. i'm building another one at the moment but the parts i want are rather expensive uh-umm

they arent bad but i wouldnt recommend laptops for gaming really, they just lack performance when it comes to bigger games like Crysis

Mac's are so much better than PC's unless you use LINIX. My father works in the IT department of a big newspaper and 13% of their computers are PCs and the rest are Macs yet they use more than 70% of their computer budget on those 13%....I have a mac in my basement that still runs as good as the day it was first booted up its from 1988 nobody uses it anymore cause its old but, the point is Macs are far more durable and reliable than PCs they last longer and don't need nearly as much maintenance.

best gaming pcs: http://www.morphonix.com/software/education/science/brain/game/specimens/images/wet_brain.gif

If you buy it pre-made, it's never the same as buying part by part. Plus, it's much more expensive.
