The man that I love is one of a kind,
The man that I love is happy and nice, he brings peace to one's mind.
The man that I love is tolerant and calm, he's kind of like me,
The man that I love is not like most men, he can see women for who they really can be.
The man that I love is not the average man, he's not a pig, not a hog,
The man that I love has a heart of gold, don't think he's like other men, don't you call him a dog!
The man that I love is the best guy around.
He calls me his best friend but since I love him, I'm also his guard,
And when he talks of the one he loves, it feels like I'm being cut with a glass shard.
I care about and love him with all of my heart,
But he can't return the feelings, which is tearing me apart.
I'm going to have to let him go, release him and let him go free,
Since the relationship I want, can never be.
The man that I love is the one I can't have.
I wanted to love but i found no one, i'm just trying to stay steady,
Now I've locked up my heart and I'll never be ready.
