Whomever said "the truth will set you free" has never met Maria Kawai. You see, she has a tendency to be brutally honest. Because of her inability to sugar-coat her words, and her incredibly cold delivery of them, she has no friends. It isn't that she's a mean-spirited person, she simply sees mincing words as a form of lying.

After having been expelled from a private high school for "violence against a teacher", she now tries to start fresh at her new public school. But her ultimate no-spin attitude does not sit well with her new classmates. Perhaps her saving grace will be her interaction with the extroverted Yusuke and stoic Shin, who seem to be immune (for the most part) to her sharp tongue.

Besides Red River & 1/2 Prince, Akuma to Love Song is probably my best Shojou Manga that I have ever come to know. I have met allot of guys who loved this manga - even said they've bought the RAWS. This manga contains allot of controversies pertaining to arguments and psychological responses and misbehavior. [read more]

It's beyond genius; it is a masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, the manga hasn't fully been scanlated yet - but I just have a feeling that the ending is going to blow my mind away. Reading mangas like these helps you to evaluate the world through others conversational objections - making you think of your life in ways worth thinking over. Each conversation or sentence contains its own scene as its own self. Some of the scenes in the manga kinda brings back memories of my past.

If you have read the xxxHolic manga, you would think that 'Kawai Maria' resembles Yuuko. I believe that Yuuko's time, as a human high school girl (if Yuuko was ever human to begin with) was the life of Kawai Maria. I'm an xxxHolic Fan as well, so I think of many weird things. I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks that.

I started reading Akuma to love song a few weeks ago and I like it enough to read every chapter as soon as it is scanlated but I´m not such a fan of it.
Actually, although I really like Kawai Maria´s way of always saying the naked truth, her character seems quite exagerated to me and I think the psychological stuff often sounds false.
On the other side, the secondary characters are really goog, especially Shin and Tomoyo, and a few scenes are really moving.
Well, anyway, this manga is worth reading, or at least checking out.
Don´t hate me please, though I could understand that ´cause, as for myself, I hate people who don´t agree with me when I think a manga is the best.

I have read about 14 chapters of this series long ago, and though it's shoujo, it kinda caught my attention. BUT, as expected, it died. Got boring.

I love this series because the characters aren't really like any others I've seen in mangas I've read. She really is brutally honest, but her honesty makes people see themselves as they really are and makes it easier for them to accept themselves. I would suggest it to people looking for new manga to read.

You should. At least read the 1st chapter. If it doesn't excite you, then at least you had a chance to read a good shoujo manga.

I like her way of behavior. It keeps me attached to this manga.
If she were to run out of her mischievous ways, then i would just be damningly disappointed.
