Would it do MangaHut any good if we were to have new "categories"?
My answer: Hell yeah!!!
But I don't want to convince KaitenV(the admin) about anything without having suggestions on what kind of new OFF-topic categories to add...
I need Ideas; Something that will bring out the huge aspect towards Mangahut.
I'm thinking about an "Art Forum" with "FanFics/Stories," "Competitions," and "Featured Galleries" as side categories.
If anyone have awesome ideas, please feel free to post it! ^^

I meant that yea asahina is right and im up for something new and yea an ecchi section may be a possibility.
I thought you meant an ecchi area isn't really new since we spread that wealth all around the forums! :p

I'm just trying to bring an idea on what new categories we could put.
So I can tell him the ideas we may need.
Ecchi seems...i don't know...but it's good...
What will we talk about in that kind of thread though...
We need something that will be long lasting and that will bring activeness...
The only way to bring "long lasting" and "activeness" is if WE put stuff in there daily and get people to actually reply/post out of interest.
No matter what we make up, some ideas will sound good but then there's a limit to what we make sound good and to what actually happens...

heres a suggestion.
how about a picture hunt, the people who want to participate can and they all decied on what they must find and then they have a certain time period to find it and the person(s) who find it can get a nice reward or something

il be opening an art area. and il be moderating it so nothing offensive, but other than that. go crazy with it.

Advertisement cost money, I prefer not to burden V-man with something like that. Unless we can get it for free... then that's something entirely different.
How about make a few lists of things we can do... and make a poll in the forums AND on the Homepage. That way we can get lots of people's opinion about what they might want.

The thing about ads is...they'd be useless. The forums need to be interesting before people post and I'm not so sure how to do that. See, about 40-50,000 people view mangahut a day...and no one stays at the forums LOL.

What if we say that in order to view our mangas, you have to post 20 times on the forums...
We could force them!!!!
I do not want to force someone to do something they want to do...
Also.. I do not agree to that because I would probably stop "moderating" the forums because of so much crap-o-la spam from the idiots who just posted a quick 20 to get it over with.
We don't have to force them to post and read the forums... but we can force them to go through the forums. Make the forums the homepage with the announcements at the top and forums below that. With the sides to quick hotlinks that go throughout the site and recent addition of manga.

I'm fine with new sections, just I'm not fine filtering out spam when it can be avoided.
A coffee shop sounds like a general/spam-like area...
Fan clubs... well... this site apparently allows "grouping" but I didn't look into that, so we could start groups and clubs and what not, and post about the stuff in a forum as well.
Otaku... we're a MANGA WEBSITE! I believe at least 50% of the forums is otaku stuff! :p
Introduction/farewell area... um... I'll have to do a bit of moving some posts around but it can be done... start it and keep people to post IN it then I don't mind moving whats already done so far.
I think master linen started an art area.
Role play "paradise" AND discussion? What? You discuss about role play? Then it wouldn't be role play if you discuss it now would it? :rolleyes:
Maybe we could have a design contest for new forums. Could make it a contest, and the winner get's a neat tile of their choosing or some other made up idea for a reward. What I mean is what would go where, and how would it be ordered and what not. Can have an manga, art, anime... yada yada areas. Which we already have these, but make up a new design that might make more members come to post here or easier to see the posts...
What about adding a small box with recently posted forums or something? Just giving off ideas / suggestions that are rolling off the top of my head as I go...

My answer to this is, I don't know...
I just gave a suggestion..
if allot of members have banners that they want to show the world, then they may alert the forums and make the forums active...
I believe that if KaitenV offers some kind of prize...then this place could be awesome....

I'm stating my opinion on how it doesn't relate anything to the forums... but if we have a forum discussion over it or something, then I would agree. Don't give such broad topics and expect me to understand! :p
Also... we need KaitenV to tell us how far he's willing to go on offers for a prize. I'll agree to anything that's free and manageable but anything outside by an actual physical object... why do we need to pay people to come to the forums?

Dude Zero, I thought you said once that you were in college too! College is like hell, all these papers are being dued within the middle towards the end of the semester for me.
Supposely I should be studing right now, but I have tomorrow in the morning to study heheh

Actually, because my transfer F-ed up I have to take some easy classes... so it's pretty easy going until I have projects like a speech or something due within a week and I wait till the very last day or something to make something up...
I should really be in junior classes but I have to take sophomore ones instead... gay as hell.

well for rewards maybe if a person wins a competition or something they can be exculded from a certain rule like with the signatures only being a cetain size or something similar i know that that is a major pain when i want to put something really cool in my profile but i have to edit it first.
I really want them to increase the signature size... but I don't think that will happen anytime soon.

Example:
What do you think of the person before you?
A: Awesome loll he's funny!
B: She's cute.
C: He has to get a haircut.
Here are some other forum games:What do you know for the person before you? What age is the person before you? What were you doing 5 mins ago? Is the avatar equivalent with the nick? Where do you want to go with the person before you?
The whole thing isn't originally my idea. There are many forums that have a "Forum Games" section. I visit such forum and hope that we get here one too. Anyone who liked my suggestion can support it.

I'm thinking spoiler section for anime and manga. i'm also thinking on having levels, it could say on the top of your avatar "junior member" on the bottum "level 0" and it will go up the more you post in the forums and stay active.
and for guest members we could let them read manga but not the lates. like "you must log in to read or view the lates".
We could aso give medals to the most active people on the site and for the people that donate as well.
